AS HARD AS ELLIE'S GUARDIANS TRIED, THEY JUST COULDN'T GET ELLIE AND HER RESIDENT CANINE FRIEND TO GET ALONG. THEY SADLY HAD TO RETURN ELLIE TO THE SHELTER. ELLIE SHOULD BE AN ONLY DOG.
Ellie is a super sweet girl (about 2 years young) who just is not able to get along with the other dog in her family. She would be most happy as a one and only. From Ellie’s former owners …..
"Ellie does very well on rides in the car. She’s a silly pup who loves to be close to her people, and she does well with children. I've been in the elevator with her where a child has unexpectedly pet her somewhat hard and she was fine. She loves to spend time on the couch or in bed with her people, and she loves to be loved in return. However, she seems to need all of that attention for herself, which is why we believe she needs to be the one and only love for someone. She will have her favorite blankets and chew toys, a leash, and her Kong toy that lets out little bits of kibble if she moves it just right (which she has become pretty good at). (br>
"She does well when she doesn't have to be crated for half of the day. We think that if she could be in a one-dog home where she has to be crated only when someone leaves or goes to bed, she'll do well.
"She does well with certain commands, such as leave it, sit, stay, wait, off and down. She loves to make a little fort out of pillows by burrowing under them on the couch, and she loves to roll around for no apparent reason, which is super cute. She really is just a super funny and cute dog who never disappoints when you need a laugh. And from the way that she acts, you can tell that she doesn’t know that she has a chronic liver condition. She takes her medicines easily in her food, or even out of your hands, as if it were a treat.
"We think she deserves her own home where she can be the center of attention for the remainder of her life, and she will shower her caretakers with affection and laughs. We just can't be that long-term home for her."
