Pointer - *dixie - Large - Senior - Female - Dog
Dixie is a very sweet and gentle lady. She originally came to the SPCA as a victim of Hurricane Katrina after which she was adopted and spent 6 years with a family. She was returned when the owners could no longer care for her. Dixie is looking for a home where she can spend the rest of her days enjoying strolls in the park and resting together for long sessions of petting! She does not enjoy other dogs but promises to be a great companion for people. When she sees you her tail won't stop wagging! She is truly an ideal couch potato companion!
Please fill out an application <http://spca914.org/DOG%20Adoption%20questionairre%20NEW%202011.doc> if you'd like to jumpstart the adoption process. No appointment is necessary to come in and meet/adopt an animal. If this is for a special adoption event, which would be noted above, please follow the special instructions, otherwise, just bring your completed application with you! You may fill out an application at the shelter as well. Please note we do NOT hold animals, nor do we accept deposits in advance. Even if you have discussed coming in to meet a animal, this does not guarantee you will get that particular puppy or dog. All animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (age appropriate) and come with a free 7 day Vet check from a participating Vet! Our hours are Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday's 1pm-4pm. High Kill Shelter Rescues, both Puppies and Adults are $325, All Puppies are $325 and Local Stray Adults over 1 year of age are $130.
